Man Drinks Down Booze In Security Line, Goes To Hospital

You'll Never Get My Vodka!

We don't recommend this. A man was transported to the hospital with a case of alcohol poisoning after an incident in a security line at Nuremberg Airport Tuesday.

The Associated Press reports the 64-year-old man was stopped by screeners as he changed planes on his trip home to Dresden, from a vacation in Egypt.

Due to new regulations governing the amount of liquid that may be transported inside carry-on luggage, security told the man to either throw out a bottle of vodka in his possession, or pay to have his carry-on bag, with the vodka inside, taken as checked luggage.

The man opted for a third course of action. He quaffed the entire bottle -- about a liter, according to news reports -- in the security line.

And, not surprisingly, soon after the man found it all-but-impossible to speak or stand, according to police. A doctor was called to the scene, and determined the man had possibly life-threatening alcohol poisoning. He was transported to a local clinic for treatment.

The man should be able to resume his trip within a few days, according to officials.
