It was baffling to me. You just wonder what life is about, where you're going, what does it matter? My mind started spinning."

Source: Dion DiMucci, leader of doo-wop group Dion and The Belmonts, who on February 3, 1959 gave up his seat onboard a chartered Beech V33 Bonanza to Ritchie Valens. That plane, also carrying Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper, crashed outside Mason City, IA... the "Day The Music Died," 50 years ago today.
