AD: Airbus Defense and Space S.A. Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2016-26-03

PRODUCT: All Airbus Defense and Space S.A. Model CN-235, CN-235-100, CN-235-200, CN-235-300, and C-295 airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule

SUMMARY: The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2013-23-02 for the aircraft listed above.

AD 2013-23-02 required an inspection of the feeder cables of certain fuel booster pumps for damage (including, but not limited to, signs of electrical arcing and fuel leaks), and replacement if necessary.

This new AD retains those requirements and also requires modification of the electrical installation of the fuel booster pumps. This AD was prompted by a report of an in-flight problem with the fuel transfer system.

The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

DATES: This AD is effective February 8, 2017.
