Providing FAA-Mandated Training To Meet 2019 Deadline
Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) training provider Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) has been contracted by a second US legacy airline to provide UPRT enhancements that will rapidly and comprehensively meet new FAA Part 121 UPRT mandates due in March 2019. APS provides transport category type-specific UPRT programs customized to each airline and harmonized for all their different fleet types.
These UPRT program refinements provide airlines’ elite pilots with targeted skills and knowledge designed to effectively prevent upset conditions from developing or, if an airplane upset develops beyond normal operating parameters, apply precise recovery actions to return the airliner to a stabilized condition in the heart of the flight envelope.
The FAA requires all air carriers in the United States to augment their pilot training programs to address training unique to the UPRT domain to include stall, upset, and advanced handling conditions in response to mandates issued by US Congress in Public Law 111.216. These training improvements make the world's safest form of transportation even safer for participating airlines.
“APS is honored to work with two of the largest US airlines to improve air safety by aiding them in refining the most efficient, cost-effective and results-oriented upset training program for their pilots,” said Paul Ransbury, President of APS. “It is the responsibility of all US commercial aviation operators to comprehensively address safety requirements. Together, APS collaborates with air carriers of all types and sizes around the world to provide pilots with the most advanced knowledge and practical skills available.”
