Amentum has announced it has been awarded a $223-million contract by the U.S. Air Force’s 316th Wing, the provisions of which call for Amentum to facilitate the timely worldwide air-transportation of U.S. VIPs—primarily federal lawmakers, presidential cabinet members, and senior military and civilian leaders.

Amentum has been tasked with ensuring flight operations are supported by top-quality maintenance and advanced technological solutions at once conducive to safety and reliability.

Amentum president of critical missions group Dr. Karl Spinnenweber stated: “The U.S. Air Force has been counting on Amentum to deliver 24/7, no-fail, high stakes transportation for our most important leaders for over twenty-years. Our team is committed to exceeding the highest standards of safety and aviation maintenance and training because our nation’s security depends on it.”

Under the newly-disclosed contract, Amentum will leverage the latest in technology advancements to perform fixed-wing aircraft maintenance and back-shop solutions for the 89 Airlift Wing’s Executive Airlift fleet. Assigned to Maryland’s Joint Base Andrews, the 89th Airlift Wing and the customers thereof count on world-class airlift services to advance international interests by ensuring diplomats and diplomacy are conveyed safely, reliably, and comfortably around the globe.

Amentum senior-vice-president of sustainment analytics and aviation solutions Joe Kelly remarked: “Our nation’s leaders depend on Amentum for high-quality support to travel without disruption. Our top-tier sustainment professionals deliver exceptional performance and have earned the prestigious FAA Diamond Award for Excellence 21 consecutive years in recognition of their commitment to aviation maintenance and training.”

The firm-fixed price contract becomes valid on 01 September 2023, has a five-year duration, and is contracted through the U.S. Air Force 316th Wing.
