According to Airbus, the first U.S.-built Airbus A321 airplane will be delivered later this month to JetBlue. This airplane is the first to be assembled at the Airbus Mobile, Alabama plant that opened last year.

The European planemaker spent about $600 million to build the plant on 53 acres near Mobile, and it’s planned to produce up to Fifty A320 family airplanes per year. Another major air event has been canceled due to a lack of economic support. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and show producer, David Schultz Air Shows, have announced that the 2016 Wings and Waves Air Show scheduled for Oct 8 and 9, this year over Daytona Beach will not take place. ERAU’s Bill Hampton said, “Unfortunately, a lack of external sponsorships and ongoing logistical concerns prevent the university from hosting Wings and Waves this year.” An executive with Jet Pack International was injured during a test flight accident last week in Denver, Colorado. It’s reported that Company vice president Nick Macomber was conducting a test flight when he lost control of the device and fell about 20 feet. Macomber was flying the hydrogen peroxide-fueled jet pack on property belonging to a Denver energy drink company that sponsors Jet Pack International's promotional efforts. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
