Harrison Ford Recovering Well After Airplane Accident

Friend Says He's Up And About

Harrison Ford is doing well following his March 5 accident, according to a longtime friend and movie producer. Producer Frank Marshall told Variety that the actor has reportedly left the UCLA medical center and is recuperating.

Ford was flying his Ryan PT-22 on March 5 when, according to the NTSB's preliminary report, it lost engine power and Ford executed a forced landing on a golf course near the Santa Monica airport (KSMO). Ford suffered multiple broken bones and other injuries during the landing, but his piloting skills are credited with saving his own life as well as preventing harm to others, according to Variety.

Marshall told the trade paper that while Ford is "pretty banged up" he's "recovering remarkably. He wants to play tennis."

Marshall said that Ford "made an incredible landing, to his credit. He is, after all, Indiana Jones."

We would add that he's also a very experienced pilot with a lot of training who appears to have flown as he was trained.
