AD: Embraer S.A. Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2019-03-21

PRODUCT: All Embraer S.A. Model ERJ 190-100 STD, -100 LR, -100 IGW airplanes; and Model ERJ 190-200 STD, -200 LR, and -200 IGW airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by reports of corrosion and chromium layer chipping of the forward and aft pintle pins of the main landing gear (MLG) shock struts.

This AD requires repetitive inspections for discrepancies of affected forward and aft pintle pins of the MLG shock struts, and corrective actions if necessary.

DATES: This AD is effective April 2, 2019.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 96 airplanes of U.S. registry. Operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:

  • Labor: Up to 22 work-hours × $85 per hour = Up to $1,870
