Maine Marine Patrol Accepts Kodiak 100 for Multi-Mission Role

Aircraft Equipped With Floats and Tactical Radio for Enforcement Role

Daher announced on the first day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024 the most recent delivery of a Kodiak 100 outfitted for maritime duties to the Maine Marine Patrol.

The aircraft is equipped with floats to enable both land- and water-based operations. Among other upgrades intended to fulfill a multi-mission role, Daher also incorporated a TDFM-9100 multi-band tactical radio into the aircraft.

The primary mission of the Maine Marine Patrol is enforcement of commercial fishing regulations and saltwater sport fishing laws. It also promotes recreational boating safety and conducts search and rescue operations as well as maritime security patrols. In addition, the new aircraft will be used for offshore monitoring of the Northern Right Whale, an endangered species.

Worldwide, land- and water-operated multi-mission Kodiaks are utilized for environmental monitoring, humanitarian missions such as for Angel Flight, and public service, surveillance, and law enforcement. The Daher display area at AirVenture will have a Kodiak 100 flown by Larry R. Forney, one of the most active volunteer pilots for Angel Flight. The exhibit also includes a Kodiak 900 in multi-mission configuration, highlighting its extended fuselage. Daher says to date, a total of 352 Kodiaks in both 100 and 900 versions have been delivered.
