Blackshape Premieres New BK160 Trainer at OSH21

Slick, Low-Wing Tandem Seater Is Powered By A Lyc IO-320

Blackshape has entered the US aero-market by flying to Oshkosh where the new BK160 trainer has a debut along the main drag leading to the OSH control tower (and ANN HQ!).

The aircraft has been designed to offer an efficient way to build airmanship at a competitive cost.

The first model represents what they call their first “supercraft...” The second model is specifically designed to train cadets, offering new and innovative ways to build strong foundations of airmanship for future civil and military pilots.

“So far we had an excellent experience both with our family of private customers and with multiple Ivy League aviation training stakeholders, including airlines (Transavia, part of the Airfrance-KLM group is one of our customers) and military training organizations, and we have helped them to deliver unprecedented quality and effectiveness to their training programs” said Luciano Belviso, Blackshape CEO.

“...and we look forward to let new customers discover our supercraft and set their new expectations in aviation as well as to support new training organizations in the US in their journey to upgrade their fleet and effectiveness with the first platform purpose-built in the last several decades.”

The Gabriel is powered by a Lycoming IO-320-D1B: 160 hp, using 100/130 or 91/96 avgas... claiming a 164 KTAS Max Level Speed, with 3.2 hours of range. Sfaety features include five points certified safety harnesses, ballistic parachute, and anti-blast fuel tanks.

Blackshape will be at AirVenture booth #501 to showcase both the new BK160 and BK160-TR.
