Airborne 08.06.25: H55 Noise Study, OSH26 To Go Vertical, Boeing Strike

In early July of this year, H55’s Bristell B23 Energic, during its Across America Tour, made a several-day stop at Centennial Airport (KAPA) outside of Denver, Colorado, where it flew the same flight path as a comparable-sized piston engine aircraft across the airport’s six official noise-monitoring stations.

The hot-off-the-press results show that the B23’s noise profile was below ambient sound – undetectable – by 3 of the 6 sensors... The EAA announced that next year’s AirVenture, the “World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration,” will be showcasing the vertical lift segment of the industry. Starting with next year’s event, aircraft including helicopters and VTOL aircraft will have a dedicated space in AirVenture’s Aviation Gateway Park. The space will also feature other elements such as new and emerging technologies as well as recruitment for new jobs in the industry. More than 3,200 workers at Boeing’s St. Louis area and Illinois defense division facilities voted to reject a second contract offer and went out on strike on August 4, curtailing production of F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets, T-7 trainers, and MQ-25 drones for aerial refueling for the U.S. Navy. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
