Electric Power Systems Seeks TSO for Rechargeable Battery System

Modular, Scalable Lithium Battery System for Select Aircraft

Electric Power Systems, Inc., announced on July 17 it has submitted its application to the FAA for a Technical Standard Order (TSO) TSO-c179b approval for its EPIC 1.0 Rechargeable Lithium Battery System.

The application means that the company has performed extensive development and rigorous testing of the system and that it meets or exceeds the Minimum Operational Performance Standards (MOPS) of the TSO.

The EPIC 1.0 Battery System contains a scalable battery module with sturdy containment and venting components and a sophisticated management system that provides thorough monitoring, protections, and communication capabilities for safe operation in aircraft.

“We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment,” said Nathan Millecam, President and CEO of Electric Power Systems. “Our team has worked tirelessly to develop a product that not only meets but exceeds industry standards. This TSO submission is a testament to our dedication to innovation and our commitment to enhancing the aviation industry.”
