Manufacturer Shipped Out 57 Commercial Aircraft in 2024’s Fourth Quarter

Boeing published its commercial and defense aircraft deliveries for the fourth quarter and full year of 2024. The report, announced on January 14, revealed unsurprisingly low numbers for a troublesome year.

The mega manufacturer delivered a total of 348 commercial aircraft in 2024. The vast majority of these, 265 aircraft, were 737s, followed by 51 787s, 18 767s,  and 14 777s. The majority of the year’s defense, space, and security deliveries were AH-64 Apaches. 34 remanufactured and 16 new orders of the attack helicopter were fulfilled in 2024. The total deliveries for the sector came in at 112 for the full year.

Alone, these stats don’t seem too bad. However, looking at the fourth-quarter data brings some concerns for the year ahead.

In 2024’s fourth quarter, Boeing delivered a total of 57 commercial airplanes. To put this into perspective, Q4 made up around 16% of the manufacturer’s total 2024 deliveries. 36 of the jets were 737s, 15 were 787s, 3 were 767s, and another 3 were 777s. The defense, space, and security side fared slightly better, with 36 of the 112 total aircraft being delivered in the fourth quarter.

In 2023, Boeing’s fourth-quarter and full-year report looked a little more impressive. The manufacturer delivered 528 commercial aircraft throughout the year, with 157 being in the fourth quarter.

Speaking of more impressive reports, Airbus also recently published its 2024 figures. It delivered 766 commercial aircraft to 86 customers, with 123 made in December alone. The manufacturer had an overall less problematic year and was able to celebrate several firsts, including making its debut A321XLR, A330neo, and A350 deliveries to customers worldwide.

Boeing will be publishing detailed financial statistics for the fourth quarter on January 28.
