More Than 260 Operated By 22 Air Forces Globally

Aerospace manufacturer Embraer announced at the Paris Air Show 2025 that the worldwide fleet of its multi-role combat aircraft, the A-29 Super Tucano has surpassed 600,000 flight hours and is operated by 22 air forces globally.

The A-29 Super Tucano is a flexible and combat-proven, cost-efficient turboprop aircraft. It is a capable performer in a variety of mission profiles including advanced pilot training, close air support, air patrol, air interdiction, JTAC training, armed ISR or intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, border surveillance, recon and escort.

Embraer recently sold the A-29N Super Tucano, the NATO-interoperable variant, to Portugal, demonstrating the aircraft’s adaptability and versatility. It is designed with advanced avionics, specialized comms systems, and enhanced capabilities to meet the stringent requirements of NATO.

The A-29 Super Tucano is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for precise and accurate target identification, weapons systems, and a comprehensive communications suite.

It has a robust structure and is capable of operating from unpaved runways and in challenging conditions with little accessory infrastructure required.
