United Aviate Academy Opts for DA42-VI as Multiengine Trainer

Airline-Operated Training Academy Finally Settles on Twin

United's in-house training initiative to foster the next generation of airline pilots from 'zero to hero' has been without a dedicated twin-engine trainer since opening last year.

Since their start, United had been operating 25 SR-series TRAC20 aircraft from Cirrus as they worked their first classes of students from no-time through their CFI and commercial ratings. Now, however, it seems the school is looking to expand once again

“We are excited to incorporate the DA42-VI Diamond Aircraft as our multi-engine trainer to our growing fleet,” said Dana Donati, CEO of the United Aviate Academy. "With its advanced aircraft systems and performance, the DA42-VI provides us the unique opportunity to prepare our pilots for the next step in their career while honoring our commitment to using the most sophisticated training aircraft on the market today."

Trevor Mustard, head of sales and marketing for Diamond Aircraft Canada, said they were excited about it, “We are very pleased to have partnered with United Aviate as they continue to grow. Their mission to provide world-class flight training through equal opportunity initiatives will further incentivize a broader spectrum of student pilots and help meet the demand at the airline level. Diamond is proud to be part of United Aviate’s new endeavor as it trains the pilots of tomorrow with the safest, most sustainable twins on the market today”.
