PAL Aerospace and De Havilland Canada Sign Memorandum of Understanding

PAL To Develop Innovations for De Havilland Aircraft

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada (De Havilland Canada, DHC) and PAL Aerospace have decades of partnering on innovations for De Havilland aircraft.

PAL Aerospace is part of the PAL Group of Companies, a longtime operator of DHC aircraft, and is uniquely positioned to develop innovative solutions for De Havilland that can be adopted by other DHC operators within the PAL Group and this MOU proposes to do just that: identify innovative solutions and new opportunities for PAL Group to deploy in its DHC fleet.

The MOU specifically targets product developments and improvements in broadband WiFi access via Low Earth Orbit satellites for the Dash 8-400 using the advanced aerospace design, engineering, certification, and aircraft modification. The two companies will develop and initially deploy them throughout the PAL Group of Companies’ fleet and then the broader market.

Cynthia Ballesteros, Senior Director of Business Development for PAL Aerospace said, “We are excited about the opportunity to broaden our partnership with De Havilland Canada through the signing of this MOU. Our long history of collaboration and cooperation has been a tremendous benefit to both companies, and we welcome this new opportunity to work together on the development of innovative solutions that will be available to all De Havilland Canada operators.”

Jean-Philippe Côté, Vice President of Programs and Business Development, De Havilland Canada said, “The PAL Group of Companies has extensive experience operating De Havilland Canada aircraft in some of the most challenging aviation environments on earth. This opportunity to work with PAL Aerospace to develop new upgrades and modifications to De Havilland Canada aircraft is one we couldn’t pass up and is one more way that we at De Havilland Canada intend to keep the fleet flying for the long-term.”
