Cirrus: 500... and Counting!

Mr. Nicholas Morris of California, unlike many aviation enthusiasts and pilots, did not make the annual pilgrimage to Oshkosh this week. There are those who made the pilgrimage but would rather be going where Mr. Morris is going. Cirrus Design is very appreciative of Mr. Morris's business.

Mr. Morris went to Duluth (MN) to take delivery of his new SR 22. What makes this significant is that it was only in July 1999, Alan Klapmeier, CEO and President of Cirrus Design, handed the keys to the Company's first customer. Mr. Morris received the keys to number 500 Cirrus SR Series production aircraft.

"It is the people like Nicholas Morris who have believed and trusted in Cirrus to deliver what we promised him, other customers and the industry many years ago - performance, safety, comfort, and customer value," said CEO and President Alan Klapmeier. "I thank Mr. Morris and the literally hundreds before him, for their patience, their trust and the opportunity to provide them many happy years of flying in Cirrus Design aircraft."

Cirrus Design manufactures the entry-level 200 hp SR20 and the higher-performing 310 hp SR22 airplanes. All Cirrus aircraft are equipped for IFR flight: Avionics packages include dual Garmin gps/com, an S-TEC Meggitt autopilot and an Avidyne FlightMax Multi Function Display as standard equipment. Optional equipment includes Stormscope@ weather information and SkyWatch traffic information. The unique CAPS (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System) is standard equipment on all Cirrus aircraft as well.
