RARE Aircraft Acquires Stearman Business

Air Repair Will Continue To Supply Engines For The Airplanes

RARE Aircraft Ltd has acquired Air Repair Inc’s Boeing Stearman restoration, parts, support and STC’s, the company said in a blog post. "Having worked closely with Pete Jones for many years, owner of Air Repair Inc. in Cleveland Mississippi, has made for a positive transition," the notice states.

Air Repair, Inc., will continue to supply all engines for the airplanes.  All other parts and accessories will now be available from Rare Aircraft Ltd.  Air Repair, Inc., holds the Type Certificate #E162  on the W670 engines transferred from Teledyne Continental Motors of Mobile, Alabama.  They are also the Type Certificate holder for Jacobs R755 engines and will continue to supply all parts and accessories for both.

"We look forward to carrying on the Air Repair tradition by continuing to offer remanufactured 75 series aircraft to better than new standards. The Stearman will fold in nicely with our track record which includes four recent Stearman restorations, numerous brokerages and current orders," the company said.

"RARE Aircraft Ltd appreciates the patience of those requiring support during this time of transition. If you have a need in the interim for a particular item we welcome your call. We will take your information and be happy to contact you when we are ready to ship."
