Aero-TV: FAR Part 103 Lives -- Belite Aircraft Reinvents the Cub

Belite's ProCub Lite Beats Up The Sky... For Pennies

While at Sun ‘n Fun 2014, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell talked with James Wiebe, the President and CEO of BeLite Aircraft. Campbell said he was on the prowl for new airplanes and Wiebe introduced him to the BeLite ProCub Lite.

Wiebe said that his ProCub Lite was built to prove that an airplane could be safe, fun, and fly well while still falling under compliance of the ultralight in rules FAR 103. The airplane featured in this video has all the bells and whistles but Wiebe said it’s also available in a kit form for the $10,000 range all the way up to a factory built version of the airplane. The video details the unique construction of this airplane in the capabilities of its high-tech instrument panel.

Wiebe also talks about his other models of ultralight aircraft and the numerous variations he offers. He reminds us that under the ultralight rules a medical certificate is never an issue. The video gives you some good footage of this little airplane in action.
