One Air Group Adds P2008JC to Diversify Training Fleet

Spanish Flight Academy Buys Pair of Tecnams to Augment Diamond Collection

Tecnam has sold a pair of its premium P2008JC MkII aircraft to the recently opened One Air of Málaga, Spain.

One Air is the first flight academy to introduce the Tecnam in the country, slowly bolstering the P2008's use case as a contender for the high-wing trainer aircraft throne. The carbon bodied, lightweight, and modern P2008 is Tecnam's attempt to create a do-all aircraft for everyone from the 5-hour student to the 50-year cross country long hauler, offering up an assortment of features drawn from the general aviation market as a whole.

One Air's manager, Agustín Cabanillas, says the deciding factor in making the jump to the Tecnam was the higher level of fit and finish compared to other high wing aircraft. In its 'Premium' trim, the P2008 boasts the most advanced GA avionics array they could pack into it, with touchscreens, synthetic vision, and 3-axis autopilot. Additional quality of life improvements saw their way onto the MkII to further maximize creature comforts en route. A new design for the dashboard and glare shield rolled out on the MkII, helping to reduce eye strain in flight and maximize the performance of the all-important "mk I eyeball" while in the busy, congested VFR training environment.

While the sale may appear small in the grand scheme of things, every bit helps to get the brand name out in popular consciousness, and Tecnam seems confident that their quality will win out over other competing aircraft. “The Tecnam P2008JC is a favorite among premium flight schools like One Air thanks to its advanced avionics suite, efficiency and overall comfort. We are confident the new aircraft will meet the school’s and their most demanding students’ high standards,”said Tecnam sales chief Walter Da Costa.

Cabanillas says, “We have chosen these two new Tecnam P2008JC MKII aircraft with premium equipment to continue offering the best quality to our student pilots. We also provide a high wing alternative, and we think that Tecnam offers the perfect aircraft with these characteristics for training pilots.”
