Pan Am International Flight Academy (PAIFA) and ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. have renewed their alliance with respect the airline's pilot interviewing policy. According to the Letter of Understanding between the two companies, ExpressJet guarantees an employment interview to students who successfully complete the Academy's Career Pilot Development (CPD) training program and who satisfy ExpressJet's criteria. Applicants who successfully complete the interview process may be offered employment by ExpressJet, based upon the Company's hiring needs at the time. ExpressJet forecasts pilot hiring to be consistent at approximately 500 pilots per year for the foreseeable future. The new agreement became effective in March.

To secure an interview, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Successfully complete a 2-year degree program and
• Successfully complete the Air Crew Education (ACE) and Route Flying segments of PAIFA's CPD training program and
• Attain a minimum of the following FAA Certificates and Ratings
• • FAA First Class Medical Certificate with No Waivers and
  • Commercial Certificate with
  • Instrument and Multi-engine ratings
• Have accumulated a Minimum 500 hours Total Time and a Minimum 100 hours Multi-engine fixed-wing time and
• Have a letter of recommendation from the Academy's Training Center Director
• Applicants must also successfully pass ExpressJet's Human Resources and Technical interviews.

ExpressJet is a member of the Academy's Airline Advisory Committee, which is comprised of the Chief Pilots and Directors of Pilot Recruiting from numerous airlines. The committee meets annually, providing input that helps ensure the Academy delivers a highly specialized flight-training curriculum - one that results in pilots meeting the exact needs of the airlines.
