Gogo AVANCE Hits Yet Another Milestone

Completes 1/2 Million Business Flights

Gogo's in-flight internet connectivity suite hit another milestone when its AVANCE L5 completed it's 500,000th flight since its launch in 2017. Currently equipped to more than 1,500 aircraft flying today, 273.7 terabytes have been consumed while in flight.

Throughout the entirety of Gogo-equipped aircraft, 3Q 2021 flights have gone up by 24% compared to 2019-era travel frequency. In the quarter, Gogo saw a 78% increase in data consumed per day on its network, with an average increase of 44% in megabytes per flight as compared to the same period in 2019. Gogo expects to see consistent growth in its service following the continued rollout of their 5G service, as business travel increases and customers learn of the network's performance. In interviews with a group of Gogo customers by Boston Consulting Group, speeds from 2 to 7 mbps were the norm while in-flight, a record easily eclipsed by their upcoming 5G speeds. Those equipped with L5 won't be left out in the cold, however, as the modularity of the Avance system allows users to quickly join Gogo's fully aviation-safe, end-to-end 5G. Using frequencies outside the bands outlined in the FAA bulletin with concerns of instrument interference, customers can rest easy and work in the sky as if it were their office.

“Demand for connectivity continues to be very high and the AVANCE L5 and Gogo Biz 4G network are delivering a great experience for customers who are doing data-heavy activities while in flight,” said Sergio Aguirre, president of Gogo Business Aviation. "AVANCE L5 continues to deliver, meeting the ever-increasing needs of our growing customer base.”
