Cirrus Has Record Sales Month

Bests Old Record by 21%

Cirrus Design set a new sales record in July: 51 airplanes sold.

Demand for Cirrus aircraft has consistently risen each month since the company and Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, John M.Bingham, implemented an enhanced sales team and aggressive brand awareness campaign several months ago. [Prior to July, the company’s previous record was 42 sales in a single month, a record set in March of 2000 --ed.]

According to Bingham, July’s outstanding success is the direct result of the company’s key focus on enhanced focus on the Cirrus lifestyle and significantly increased demo activity. "The more we allow people to experience the many attributes of Cirrus, the more obvious the choice to purchase one versus other aircraft they may be considering."

Flying is believing.

He points out that the expanded sales team (recently increased to 24 regionally-based managers nationwide) has increased the volume of monthly demonstration flights with prospects to more than 325 per month. "People simply need to experience the performance, safety and comfort of a Cirrus to convince them that everything we say about these remarkable airplanes is true."

The majority of the month’s sales occurred before the start of Oshkosh, which didn't officially begin until July 29.

...and at Oshkosh, two new models were unveiled...

At EAA AirVenture, Cirrus announced the new SRV, a VFR-only aircraft (above), as well as the new SR22 Centennial Edition. [Watch for our feature on these newcomers next week. Meanwhile, here's a couple more photos -- Centennial is below --ed.] "We wrote orders for the Centennial Edition, in particular, during the show," says Bingham. "With only 100 to be made, they will soon sell out." Cirrus also announced a new retail promotion called "Buy Now – Fly Now," to help make the dream of owning a Cirrus airplane a reality.

"We had a great show; traffic at our display was consistently heavy, our six demonstration aircraft were fully booked each day, we sold 12 aircraft; and we presented a SR22 to the National Park Service to use for two years as part of their Centennial of Flight celebrations." said Bingham. "We are confident that we will continue to see more EAA-related sales come through from exposure to the vast number  of prospects who don’t want to wait for extended periods to take delivery of a new aircraft."

Bingham continued, "This is the beginning of a trend. Increased customer contact and visibility will, we believe, take Cirrus to its deserved place as the number one in the personal aircraft industry."
