Bell 505 Fleet Reaches 100,000 Hours

Light Single Helicopter Building A Name for Itself in the Affordable Helo Segment

The Bell 505 fleet has racked up more than 100,000 flight hours around the world, around 5 years after its introduction.

The first customer delivery in 2017 kicked off a flurry of activity for the helicopter, proving itself a competent, capable aircraft for users in nearly any role.

The worldwide 505 fleet numbers more than 360 aircraft, with more on the way says Textron. Lane Evans, director of the Bell 505's support and sales division, says the bang-for-buck performance and modernity has made it a go-to in the short light single category. "Since its entry into service, the Bell 505 continues to impress global operators for its unparalleled performance and capabilities. This significant achievement further demonstrates our customers’ admiration for the platform and its versatility as it enhances private, utility, training and public safety flights.”

The 505 allows for a panoramic view for all passengers in its roomy, spacious cabin while boasting the newest iteration of Garmin's G1000H NXi avionics suite and autopilot gives pilots an easily managed, low-workload flight deck with greater situational awareness than older legacy avionics systems. A dual channel, FADEC controlled Safran Arrius 2R engine provides the motive force and lifting performance to perform a variety of roles, from transport, to business, and with recent modifications released in conjunction with Bell - air ambulance. The 505 stood with its brand sibling, the 429 as Best-In-Class Aircraft in customer surveys at the close of 2021, with increasing uptake to public service, law enforcement, and military agencies around the globe.
