VoltAero Debuts HPU 210 Hybrid Powerplant At EAA AirVenture

U.S. Introduction With Production Slot Reservations Open At Show

VoltAero is making what it calls its “high-powered” debut in the U.S. at next week’s EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, by having its HPU 210 hybrid power unit on exhibit for the first time in the U.S. VoltAero will also have open reservations for production slots of its propulsion system for homebuilt, kit-built, and light aircraft.

The HPU 210 is billed as a game-changer for general aviation with its combination of a high-performance 150-kW Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX-derived piston engine with a 60-kW electric motor. The hybrid powerplant delivers an impressive 40% boost in takeoff and climb power controlled by a single throttle.

The system introduces VoltAero’s patented hybrid-electric technology to a new category of aircraft with enhanced safety, performance, and efficiency.

Jean Botti, CEO and Chief Technology Officer of VoltAero said, “EAA AirVenture is the perfect venue to introduce our HPU 210 to the North American market. We’re excited to meet the passionate community of homebuilt and kit-built airplane enthusiasts, as well as light aircraft producers, who are seeking new and efficient propulsion options. And for the first time, we’ll be taking reservations for HPU 210 production slots – right at our booth.”

VoltAero will have its HPU 210 on display at AirVenture Booth #314 at Wittman Regional  Airport (KOSH). Visitors will have the opportunity to have a close-up look at the HPU 210 as well as speak directly with VoltAero’s tech and commercial teams.

Jean Botti will hold a press conference on Tuesday, July 22 at 10:30 am at the VoltAero exhibit to provide additional information and insight on the HPU 210’s capabilities and also update on VoltAero’s Cassio 330 hybrid-electric regional  aircraft.
