ADG Sets Its Sights On North Carolina For New Development

Aviation Service Center Coming To KAVL

Aviation Development Group of Denver, CO told ANN this week of its plans to develop an aviation service center at Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) in North Carolina.

The planned, phased development includes terminal, office and hangar facilities totaling approximately 373,000 square feet, with an estimated completion cost of approximately $37 million. The project will accommodate a complimentary variety of users including a fixed base operator (FBO), charter operator, maintenance provider (MRO), corporate and individual aircraft owners/operators and other aviation-related businesses requiring office/hangar facilities.

The initial phase, approximately 95,000 square feet, is designed for an FBO, MRO, charter operator and a corporate aviation department. ADG has issued a Request for Proposals soliciting qualified firms interested in purchasing or leasing one or more of the to-be-built facilities. Subsequent planned phases comprising approximately 277,000 square feet include a community hangar and over 45 corporate, executive and box hangars.

"There are a couple of key benefits to a comprehensive, master-planned development," said Michael Dunn, ADG’s founder and manager of real estate investment and development. "We are able to achieve greater cost efficiencies than piecemeal development by individual users. Plus, a mixed-use aviation development designed for complimentary functions gives businesses the opportunity to acquire customized facilities for their respective operations, while all the risks and responsibilities of project construction are managed by the developer."

ADG is now constructing 41 executive and corporate hangars totaling 147,000 square feet at Chino Airport (CNO) in Chino, CA. Thirty-nine of the hangars have been pre-sold, and the project is scheduled for completion in May 2007. Additionally, ADG was selected to develop a 10+ acre parcel at Buchanan Field Airport (CCR) in Concord, CA. Planned development includes 43 corporate/executive hangars totaling approximately 171,000 square feet. All of the hangars have been reserved.

Aviation Development Group develops aviation facilities on a nationwide basis for individuals, corporations, fixed base operators, charter operators and corporate flight departments.
