Thousands Apply To Fly 15 Airplanes For New Airline

Norse Atlantic Airways Going Transatlantic 12 August 2022

Norse Atlantic Airways, a new long-haul airline that promises affordable fares on transatlantic routes opened for business in March 2021.

The airline, headquartered in Arendal, Norway is a publicly traded company wholly owned by Norse Atlantic ASA. They expect to create 1600+ jobs in the USA and Europe when its fleet of 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners are operational, and this will be timed to coincide with the activation of transatlantic routes on 12 August 2022.

And now word is out on the airwaves that it’s received several thousand applications for the 15 or so airplanes in its fleet! Norse appears to be hiring directly through their website, seeking candidates with at least 1,500 hours of flight time and base preferences of OSL (Norway), LGW (England), or CDG (France). In terms of routing, Norse will be operating between the following cities: Ft Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando (MCO), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), London Gatwick (LGW), and Oslo (OSL).

Service levels, in the Economy class comes in three levels: Light, Classic, and Plus where ‘Light’ gets you onboard with undereat bag and $200 flight change fee, ‘Classic’ includes meal service carry-on, under seat luggage at no extra charge and a $100 change fee. Finally, Classic has all the same trappings as Classic except no fee to change flight, but you get priority boarding! All passengers can expect USB charging/power outlets, and on-demand entertainment in every seat. Competition is usually a good thing, and time will be the true arbiter as to how well this new line flies.
