Tennessee NG to Honor Vought Aircraft Industries

Freedom Medal to be presented to company for support of employees

Today the Tennessee National Guard will present Vought Aircraft Industries with the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard/Reserve) award for supporting employees' participation in the National Guard and Reserve.

Vought goes beyond the requirements of the law in support of its National Guard and Reserve employees. During the 30-minute ceremony, 10 employees who are National Guard and Reserve members will be recognized and awarded Army National Guard coins.

Tennessee National Guard Gen. David Greer will present the Tennessee National Guard Freedom Medal and the Employer Support of the Guard/Reserve award to Mike DeMeo, Vought site manager in Nashville. Then Col. Bruce Jones, Mike DeMeo and Richard Hill (Vought director of site operations) will sign a "Statement of Support." This signing publicly shows Vought's pledge and support of the Guard/Reserve efforts.

On the heels of Memorial Day, this ceremony is a tribute to Vought and its employees in Nashville who play an important role in our nation's national defense.
