EADS North America Sponsors USAF Charity Ball For Fifth Year

Presents Check For March 8 Event At Bolling AFB

For the fifth consecutive year, EADS North America will be the lead corporate supporter of the Air Force Charity Ball -- an event organized by the Air Force Aid Society, the official charity of the United States Air Force.

EADS North America Chairman & CEO Ralph Crosby presented a check to Air Force Aid Society CEO Lt. Gen. John D. Hopper, Jr. (USAF, Ret.) to support the 2008 Charity Ball, scheduled for March 8 at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, DC. The Air Force Charity Ball is an important fundraising event for the Air Force Aid Society in support of its mission to assist US Airmen worldwide.

"EADS North America is very proud to once again act as the lead corporate sponsor for the Air Force Charity Ball," said Crosby. "Our company understands the important role that the Air Force Aid Society plays in supporting our Airman worldwide. We know that every dollar contributed goes to meet the needs of the men and women in uniform, along with their families, that are undergoing the hardships of combat and extended separations."

Lt. Gen. Hopper thanked EADS North America for the company’s generous gift, and noted that it has set an example for other corporate donors.

This year's sponsorship of the USAF event carries added meaning for EADS. As ANN has reported extensively, a team comprised of EADS and Northrop Grumman was awarded the Air Force's KC-X aerial refueling tanker contract last Friday, over a competing bid from Boeing.
