AD: Aeroclubul Romaniei Gliders

AD NUMBER: 2018-03-17

PRODUCT: Aeroclubul Romaniei Model IS-28B2 gliders.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as cracks at stringers in the rear fuselage of several Model IS-28B2 gliders.

DATES: This AD is effective March 20, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD will affect 30 products of U.S. registry. The agency also estimates that it would take about 2 work-hours per product to comply with the basic requirements of this AD. The average labor rate is $85 per work-hour. Based on these figures, the estimated cost of this AD on U.S. operators is $170 per product.

In addition, the FAA estimates that any necessary follow-on actions would take about 15 work-hours and require parts costing $1,000, for a cost of $2,275 per product.
