Introducing New Signal Converter Box From Innovative Advantage

BizAv Cabin Backbone Bridges Video, Audio Between Old And New Systems

Innovative Advantage (IA), manufacturer of audio and visual distribution systems (AVDS) that bridges 4K video, Audio, and Ethernet signals for business aviation aircraft, announced the introduction of its brand-new Signal Converter Box, or SCB.

The new SCB is  designed to seamlessly relay video, audio, and data signals between legacy and modern systems in aircraft cabins. It is a compact and modular Line Replaceable Unit or LRU that was engineered in-house by the IA team, and provides a flexible and configurable baseline support for both video input and output modules.

The SCB supports high-quality signal conversion, routing, and charging with a single unit. It integrates SDI and HDMI input/output, built-in high-power USB-C for charging and video-in support, analog audio output, and connectivity for both fiber and copper Ethernet.

One of the major differentiator that sets this SCB apart is the dual capability of allowing a passenger to watch full video (uncompressed) while also charging a personal electronic device with the USB-C port.

The new SCB unit can be integrated with any Cabin Management System or In-Flight Entertainment System, and is able to be used as a stand-alone upgrade for aircraft while retaining an existing CMS or IFE.

Innovative Advantage can now leverage its new cabin backbone to offer a full aftermarket upgrade to the latest entertainment technology in all aircraft platforms. These include the small and mid-size bizjets that use a lighter and smaller 4-slot AVDS backbone up to the largest aircraft with the 8-slot AVDS. All applications provide robust and reliable functionality.
