Air Charter Association Of North America Joins ACSF

Non-Profit Organization Promotes Best Practices In Private Aviation

The newest member of the Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) is the Air Charter Association of North America (ACANA), a non-profit organization that fosters the air charter industry by promoting best practices and professionalism by educating consumers about the benefits of private aviation.  ACANA is among more than 110 other businesses that support the ACSF’s vision to enable on-demand air charter providers and fractional program managers in achieving the highest levels of safety in the aviation industry.

“ACANA’s mission creates a benchmark for excellence and professionalism that helps consumers make informed decisions about their air carrier service provider,” said Scott Bickford, Chairman of ACANA. “Accordingly, we are excited to be a part of the ACSF and the support the foundation offers our community.”

Membership in ACANA begins with sponsorship by an existing full member.  Prospective members must complete a very comprehensive and thorough application demonstrating that they meet specific criteria for air charter brokers.

“ACANA believes that safety above and beyond the regulatory minimums is an absolute core value for their organization,” noted ACSF President Bryan Burns. “We are pleased to welcome them as a foundation member.”

ACSF has developed the industry audit standard, an all-inclusive audit tailored for Part 135 and 91K operators that acts as a detailed gap analysis of an operator’s management practices. The audit consists of a thorough review of an operator’s processes and procedures, regulatory compliance, and the operator’s implementation of and adherence to a safety management system (SMS).
