Two A330 MRTT Voyagers Damaged At Brize Norton Airbase

The British Counter Terrorism Policing South East unit has charged four people following their arrest for trespassing into the RAF Brize Norton airbase and causing £7 million ($9.5 million) worth of damage to two military Airbus A330 MRTT multi-role Voyager aircraft.

They were charged on July 2, 2025, with  conspiracy to enter a prohibited place knowingly for a purpose prejudicial to the safety or interests of the UK, and conspiracy to commit criminal damage. The people charged are between 22 and 35 years of age. Two of them live in London and the other two have no fixed addresses.

Video of the June 20, 2025 incident was recorded by the perpetrators themselves and shared on social media by the group known as Palestine Action. They claimed that the aircraft were part of the British operation to transport weapons that “commit genocide in Gaza.”

The video showed them spraying red paint onto and into the engines, and causing more damage with crowbars.

The UK Parliament voted on July 2, 2025, to designate Palestine Action as a terrorist group. In connection with that designation, the Crown Prosecution Service indicated it will submit to the court that the offenses are connected with terrorism.

RAF Brize Norton is the largest RAF base in the UK and is a major logistics hub that supports regular flights to Akrotiri in Cyprus.

The Airbus A330 MRTT (multi-role tanker transport) Voyager is a mainstay of the air forces of NATO and other allies. It is capable of both refueling other aircraft as well as carrying troops, cargo, or medevac operations.
