EASA Grants STC To MT-Propeller For 5-Blade Scimitar Prop

FAA Approval Expected Soon

EASA has granted an STC (#10050861) to MT-Propeller for the installation of its next generation 5-blade scimitar composite propeller on the Beech King Air 300 / 350 series powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada the PT6A-60A engines.

According to the company, the propeller installation provides almost vibration free propeller operations; has bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for for superior erosion protection of the blades; and provides a general performance improvement of 8 percent take-off & climb and 4-5 knots at cruise.

The prop also has no propeller speed restrictions on the ground while operating in low idle. Other features include:

  • More ground clearance meaning less FODs.
  • Lower ITTs during start-up for less engine wear.
  • Maximum durability and reliability and is suitable for all weather operation.
  • No life limitation.
  • FOD repairable blades.

MT-Propeller says all models comply with the strict German noise regulations 2010 - "Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung" for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European Countries.

An FAA STC is in progress, the company says.
