European Flight Academy Adds More Diamond Twins

New Colorways Make Handsome Addition to the Training Fleet

The DA-42 remains a popular trainer out in its home market, only further proven thanks to a recent sale of 3 new DA-42NG-VIs to The European Flight Academy.

The aircraft will be used in the school's "tradition of providing first-class training conditions for the future pilots of the Lufthansa Group." The most noteworthy aspect of the sale, of course, lies in their special paint jobs, each emblazoned with the colors of a Lufthansa group friend. One aircraft sports the colors of Air Dolomiti, with the carrier's cyan-on-white and corporate logo on each vertical stabilizer. The other unit is more colorful, with its vertical winglets painted in rainbow striping to commemorate the

The handover of the new twins saw a brief photo opp thanks to the inclusion of a new Air Dolomiti Embraer 190. It's good motivation for students to see two of the aircraft they'll one day shepherd as they go through their training and careers. Students at the European Flight Academy start out at the school's Bremen, Germany home, to complete a year of theory and ground school. Then they move on to Goodyear, Arizona, to begin practical flight training. The final phase puts students back in Rostock, where these new DA-42NG-VIs will be waiting for them.

Raymund Obst, Head of Pilot Schools EFA, said the new Diamonds represent the latest and greatest in the world of piston twins. "We are proud to be able to offer our students training on the latest state-of-the-art technology with these new aircraft. This is complemented by our decades of experience as a flight school of the Lufthansa Group with its unique connection to active airline operations."

"With this event, we are not only celebrating visibility on a training aircraft, but also our continuous commitment to providing excellent training for future pilots of the Lufthansa Group. The integration of our livery with those of other group companies - Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, and Edelweiss - underscores the strong sense of belonging and collaboration that unites us," said Steffen Harbarth, CEO of Air Dolomiti.

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with Lufthansa Aviation Training and expand their fleet with three additional DA42-VI aircraft. This state-of-the-art MEP training aircraft is an example of our commitment to providing the aviation industry with the highest quality and most advanced training solutions," said Jane Wang, Sales Director at Diamond Aircraft Austria.

The three new training aircraft will expand the existing fleet of five DA-40NG and three DA-42NG-VI in Grenchen, as well as two DA-40NG and seven DA-42NG in Rostock.
