Hawker Beechcraft Corporation Announces 2007 Supplier Awards

Recognizes Contributions To Keeping Planemaker On Schedule

Hawker Beechcraft tells ANN the planemaker recently recognized many of its suppliers during its annual supplier’s conference. Based upon scoring on specific selection criteria, awards were given in different categories including: Performance Excellence, Small Business Partner, Innovative Excellence, Performance Promise Champion and Supplier of the Year.

"These award winners demonstrated achievement of key performance criteria allowing Hawker Beechcraft to deliver on its Performance Promise to its customers," said Brad Widmann, vice president Supply Chain Management. "Our suppliers are key partners. Their commitment and reliability is crucial to our success."

Rockwell Collins received the Supplier of the Year Award for having the most significant business impact on Hawker Beechcraft Corporation in the past year. HBC says the company demonstrated this achievement through consistently delivering products on schedule, created valuable business solutions to HBC often involving their own investment, and were committed to continuous improvement.

Labinal de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. received the Performance Promise Champion Award. The company received this award by displaying a relentless pursuit of quality and delivery performance as well as a commitment to continuous improvement.

Leading Technology Composites earned the Innovation Excellence Award due to its implementation of new innovative technology, product process solutions as well as their commitment to continuous improvement.

Goodwill Industries Easter Seals of Kansas, Inc was given the Small Business Partner Award as the small business supplier that consistently achieved superior quality and delivery performance as well as their commitment to continuous improvement

Performance Excellence Plaques were awarded in Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels based on a Supplier Rating System that Hawker Beechcraft Company utilizes over a rolling 12 month period. The rating system lists 97 percent for Bronze, 98 percent for Silver, 99 percent for Gold and 100 percent for Platinum level.

A Platinum Award was given to Carl F. Booth and Company for fully supporting HBC while achieving a 100 percent quantitative rating. Carl F. Booth and Company manufactures customized, cut-to-size, hardwood veneer panels for the Hawker 850XP and 4000 platforms.

To support increasing line rates, Carl F. Booth, a long time supplier, partnered with Hawker Beechcraft Corporation to design, map and implement an interior veneer configuration for the aircraft.

Representatives with Hawker Beechcraft tell ANN this process allowed Carl F. Booth and Co. to provide HBC with a prompt, customized interior product while reducing delivery lead times by 75 percent. The process has proven to be so successful that it has also been implemented on the Model 4000 platform, the company adds.
