Robb Says Columbia 400 'Best Of The Best'

Lancair Pleased

The Lancair Company learned Friday that the editors of Robb Report magazine have named the turbocharged Columbia 400 "Best of the Best" in the personal aircraft category. Their 17th annual "Best of the Best" issue will hit newsstands May 24th.

"We're extremely pleased to be named "Best of the Best" by Robb Report's editors," said Lancair Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Randy S. Bolinger, in a release to ANN. "These folks evaluate extremely high-end products from around the world in a wide variety of categories. To have Robb Report recognize the Columbia 400 as the best in its class demonstrates that they have done their due diligence and truly understand what makes a personal aircraft the class leader. "

The "Best of the Best" issue is the result of the magazine's annual search for the most extraordinary products and services. The monthly, international magazine covers the luxury lifestyle, featuring premium-quality automobiles, yachts, jewelry, vacations, wines, fashions and aircraft among other categories.

The four-place, all composite, Lancair Columbia 400 is the twin turbocharged and intercooled version of the Company's line of personal aircraft. The Columbia is the fastest certified piston powered aircraft in the world with a maximum cruise speed of 235 knots or 270 miles per hour. It is capable of cruising at altitudes as high as 25,000 feet. The aircraft has a range of more than 1,300 nautical miles, while cruising at more than 200 knots.

The Columbia 400 incorporates a "glass cockpit" with Avidyne displays, Garmin Avionics and numerous innovative and integrated safety features to create an exceedingly capable personal aircraft.
