Women in Aviation Announces 2005 Scholarships

They're Available Online

Get ready to start writing, because the 2005 scholarship listings are now available online and in the September issue of Aviation for Women magazine. Women in Aviation, International has given out $3.5 million in scholarships since 1996. Last year alone nearly $500,000 was awarded to Women in Aviation members during the organization's annual international conference.

Interested applicants may download an application for this year's scholarships by logging onto the organization's web site. Scholarship recipients include pilots, mechanics, engineers, dispatchers, flight attendants, students, teachers, and even managers involved in aviation. Awards range in value from $500 to more than $25,000. Any member can apply. Read scholarship descriptions carefully to make sure all requirements are met and follow the application's directions carefully.

Deadline for most applications is December 3, 2004.

Scholarship applicants must be current WAI members. Membership rates are only $39.00 a year (student memberships are available for $29). Information on how to join can be found on the WAI web site or by calling (937) 839-4647. In addition to being eligible for scholarships, an entire member benefits package will be sent including a subscription to Aviation for Women magazine and our online newsletter, WAI Connect Online.

Another membership benefit includes the WAI Regional Conferences, including the next one in Chicago (September 17, 2004) or Atlanta (November 2004) for networking and support, as well as the WAI International conference next year, March 10-12, 2005, in Dallas, Texas, where the scholarship awards will be distributed.
