Pray Aviation Services Set To Expand

Set To Purchase Hangars At Augusta, KS Municipal Airport

Pray Aviation Services in Augusta, KS is set to expand with the purchase of three hangars at Augusta Municipal Airport (3AU).

Chief pilot and owner Matt Pray said Wednesday that he is in the process of purchasing the hangars, which will total 17,800 square feet. The company will relocate from locations at Stearman Field in Benton and Jabara Airport in East Wichita to the Augusta airport, according to the McClatchy news service.

The company provides accelerated flight training through ATP. One of the hangars will be converted into offices, classrooms, and lodging for students. The other two hangars will house the company's training aircraft; a Cessna 172, a Mooney, and three Beech Travel Air Twins and the company's aircraft management services. The company will also soon take delivery of an Enstrom helicopter and a third single-engine airplane.

Pray said he has recently trained 30 students from the Singapore Air Force to be airline pilots.

Pray said he anticipates a great deal of growth in the next six months to a year.
