Vittorazi Motors Makes 1st Showing at SnF with EFI in Tow

Biggest, Baddest Engine Seems Tailor Made for USDM

Italian engine manufacturer Vittorazi Motors made a good first impression at Sun 'n Fun 2024, coming to the fly-in for the first time with all kinds of goodies in tow.

Vittorazi specializes in small, compact, lightweight parameter engines, a natural outcropping of their evolution from small mini sport bikes in the early 80s. They've moved on to gain a strong position in the parameter scene with their Atom 80, Moster185, and Cosmos 300 engines. That covers most of the parameter bases, with the Atom taking up the lighter, smaller end and the Cosmos hauling the bigger wheeled aircraft aloft. Knowing the American market, they brought out their newly patented fuel injection for the Cosmos 300, adding all the efficiency, reliability, and simplicity that the tech provides. That's a perfect choice, given our penchant for the biggest, burliest engines the Europeans can provide. The 2-stroke, twin spark Cosmos 300 offers 36 horsepower from 55 to 60 lbs. That's pretty nifty, and those willing to crank their own engine and rip the cord can shave about 5 lbs off that weight. Static thrust ranges from 242 lbs to 273 lbs depending on the prop selected. (***These specs come from the older 300 sans EFI***)

Of course, in their home market the Cosmos is seen as overkill for some, who tend to opt for the similarly EFI-improved Moster 185. That unit seems to be their best seller, offering a sub-40 lb weight with 202 lbs of thrust with an average 2-blade prop. Earlier this year it too got fuel injection, bringing it up to par in a world where the average buyer cares little for the complexities or difficulties of offering the same hassle-free engine operation that their automobiles and bikes give them. Now, with electric start and EFI, the Moster 185 is better than ever. For those who really want to squeeze every drop of performance out of the type, Vittorazi offers an "R Model", in classic motorsport fashion. The Moster 185 Factory R is a limited run offering that lets them swing for the fences, a carbon fiber-drenched engine that shaves 10 lbs off the standard Moster 185 EFI while offering 211 lbs of thrust.
