Chuck Glass Joins The Company After A Stint In Beijing

Piper Aircraft has selected aviation veteran and former U.S. Army officer Chuck W. Glass to be the company's new Director of International Flight Training and Fleet Programs.

Glass, a former U.S. Army senior officer and aviator, retired from his final Pentagon posting as Director of Military Attaché Operations for South Asia to pursue a career in General Aviation Flight Training..  He comes to Piper from Diamond Aircraft, where he served in Beijing as Diamond's chief representative for China.

Piper Executive Vice President Randy Groom made the announcement during a news conference held in Lakeland, FL Tuesday morning.

"Chuck's qualifications in General Aviation are just what we need as we expand fleet sales to match our growth strategy," Groom said.  "In addition, his extensive experience in the Asian aviation market is a key asset that he brings to us as we address overseas markets."

Glass also has extensive experience in flight training. Before joining Diamond, he was President and CEO for the Beijing Pan Am International Aviation Academy in Beijing and Senior Vice President, Career Pilot Division, for Pan Am International Flight Academy. Other positions Glass has held include National Director of Education for the Westwood School of Technology and the Dean of Aviation Studies at Miami-Dade Community College in Miami, FL.

"I'm impressed with Piper's products and the company's commitment to achieving new levels of quality, performance and customer support," Glass said, "No other manufacturer has the depth in the market that Piper has, and I look forward to being part of the team that is making these initiatives a reality."
