Turboprop Leasing Specialist Orders 10 ATR 42-600S

Dublin-based turboprop leasing firm Elix Aviation Capital, has today signed a Letter of Intent to become the launch customer of the ATR 42-600S, with an order for 10 aircraft. This new version of the ATR 42-600 offers capabilities to take-off from and land on runways as short as 2,625 feet, with the ‘S’ representing STOL (Short Take Off and Landing). ATR is currently finalizing the process for official launch of the 42-600S and received authorization to take in orders for the aircraft, subject to the final confirmation for launch from the company’s Board of Directors, expected before year end.

CAE and SAS have announced the extension of their exclusive long-term pilot and cabin crew training contract. Universal Avionics says it is seeing increased interest from the Airline Aftermarket for Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) solutions. The company recently kicked-off a ClearVision EFVS program with AerSale, Inc. to develop an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Airbus A320 aircraft. That retrofit upgrade certification is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2020, with CAAC and EASA STC validation to immediately follow.
