The Experimental Aircraft Association says the blogosphere
is abuzz with reports of Virgin Galactic's recently sent
invitations to selected individuals for a progress report and a
rollout of WhiteKnightTwo on July 28 at Mojave Spaceport in
California. EAA says these reports foreshadow a parallel media
event and follow-up engagements with EAA members and visitors at
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2008, July 28-August 3.
Risk Loss Of Funding If They Don't Negotiate With Allegiant
Air
Low-cost air carrier Allegiant Air has encountered community
barricades in an effort to expand into the Seattle, WA area, but
the Federal Aviation Administration is cautioning officials to
"play nice" or risk their Airport Improvement Program (AIP)
funding.
It's no secret pilots at Northwest Airlines are more than a
little skeptical about the future, as their carrier moves towards a
merger with -- some would say takeover by -- Delta Air Lines.
Those ill-feelings weren't helped by Delta's maneuvering to
negotiate a contract with its own pilots ahead of the April 14
announcement -- talks Northwest pilots weren't invited to.
Dirt For Test Present, But Sensors Don't Detect It Reaching

Scientists are attempting to determine what could be going on to
prevent Martian dirt scooped by the Phoenix lander's robot arm from
reaching a tiny testing oven.
The flight attendant who admitted to deliberately starting a

pleaded not guilty to charges.

Chicago-Based Operator Now Offering VLJ Flights From BCT
North American Jet Charter Group, LLC announced late last week
the delivery of its first Florida-based Eclipse 500 very light jet
available for on-demand air-taxi and charter. Based at Boca
Aviation at Boca Raton Airport (BCT), the two pilot / four
passenger VLJ offers service to the Bahamas and other regional
destinations.
The US Navy has completed developmental testing of a BAE Systems
fiber-optic towed decoy, and has begun operational tests on the
F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet. The decoy is a key part of a system that
will better protect military aircraft against enemy missiles.
The Human Systems Integration Division's Flight Cognition
Laboratory, at NASA AMES Research Center, is studying the cognitive
processes that underlie the performance of pilots, air traffic
controllers, and other skilled professionals.

event, which takes place during the opening day of AirVenture, will
have ties back to Oshkosh, both real-time and throughout the week.
We've been in regular communications with our friends at Virgin
Galactic and its partner organization, Scaled Composites, to
