FAA Certificates First Commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
The FAA marked a new chapter in aviation history by issuing the
first airworthiness certificate for a commercial unmanned aerial
vehicle, the General Atomics Altair.
Rockwell Collins has been selected by Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. to
provide avionics, simulators, training and support on its S-92
platform for the Canadian Maritime Helicopter Program.

Million Air officials have announced that an existing fixed-base
operation (FBO) facility in Fayetteville, Ark. joined the Million

New Regulations On False and Misleading Statements About
Aircraft Products, Parts, Appliances and Materials
The FAA has issued a final rule effective October 17, 2005 which
amends FAA regulations to create additional rules banning certain
false or misleading statements about type-certificated products,
and products, parts, appliances and materials that may be used on
type-certificated products.
New Three-Year Contract Becomes Effective October 1st
ATA Airlines says its cockpit crewmembers, represented by the
ALPA, have voted to ratify a new three-year collective bargaining
agreement. The agreement contains wage, benefit and work rule
concessions. The new contract becomes effective October 1st and
will be amendable on September 30, 2008.
A controversial fatal helo accident, involving a civilian Hughes
269 being flown for the local Sheriff by an improperly licensed
pilot, has been ruled the result of material fatigue and inadequate

Michoud Has Recovered Enough To Start Research On STS-114 Foam
Loss
Less than a month after being hit by Hurricane Katrina, NASA's
Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans is gearing up to restart
processing space shuttle fuel tanks. The work will address foam
loss during Space Shuttle Discovery's launch in July.

Announcing what it calls a major new national public education
campaign, the National Air Traffic Controllers' Association
Wednesday called on the FAA to address "serious flaws that are

NASA's New Horizons spacecraft arrived at the Kennedy Space
Center, Florida, on Saturday for final preparations and testing for

Becomes Manager Of Dassault Aircraft Services in Little
Rock
Dassault Aircraft Services has named Terry Bacola General
Manager of the Little Rock Service Center. Bacola replaces Ken Root

Acrohelipro Global Services says it's now a a partner with L-3
Vertex on their recent one year contract award which allows for
four, one year options, to provide Contractor Logistic Support
(CLS) for the US Navy fleet of 120 TH57 rotary wing aircraft based
at Naval Air Station (NAS) Whiting Field. The contract has a value
of approximately $12M per year.

will have to deal with the effects of such a proposal, to gather
every bit of information they can. Holding public sessions will
allow important give-and-take between the FAA and pilots that
written comments alone can’t accommodate."
