Col. Walter Watson Only African-American To Fly SR-71
Walter Watson, USAF colonel retired, the only African-American
to fly the top-secret SR-71 spy plane, will speak on Friday,
October 31, at Embry-Riddle's Daytona Beach campus.
Spacecraft To Be Powered By Hydrazine Propulsion Systems
Aerojet announced Friday it has been selected by Johns Hopkins
University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL) to provide
propulsion systems for NASA's Radiation Belt Storm Probes (RBSP)
mission. The work will be conducted at Aerojet's Redmond, WA
facility.
Two Frasca Cessna 172S level 5 Flight Training Devices (FTDs)
were recently qualified by the CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration
of China) for training by Shenzhen Airlines. The Frasca FTDs are
located at Shenzhen's Flight Training School, located in Wuzhou,
Guangxi province, China.

Langley Research Center is wrapping up the 'NASA at 50' lecture
series that is celebrating a half-century of history with someone
who was there when it all started. Roy Harris, Jr., the former
director of aeronautics at Langley, says NASA's aeronautics
research is critically important to our nation's transportation,
defense, economy and its competitiveness in a global world.
