"The highlight of my day would be when a military fighter jet
seemingly appeared out of nowhere and made a high-speed low pass
over the runway. Talk about motivation."

email defending his January 21 flyby over San Luis Obispo Regional
Airport in an F-18 Hornet. According to media reports, Webb flew
the fighter less than 100 feet above the main runway, at speeds
approaching 650 mph. Webb lost his Navy wings over the incident,
although many supporters have defended his actions as
inspirational, and in good fun.
