Key Industry Leaders Will Convene In Atlanta On May 4-5

The Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) has published the final agenda for its upcoming Pilot Training Reform Symposium. Keynote speakers include Mel Cintron, FAA General Aviation and Commercial Division Manager; Jack Pelton, Cessna Aircraft Company President; and FAA Administrator Randy  Babbitt.

Additionally, King Schools Co-Owner Martha King will lead an Industry Leadership Panel consisting of GAMA President Pete Bunce, AOPA Director of Public Relations Jennifer Storm, Cessna Chairman Jack Pelton, Sporty's Founder Hal Shevers, Cirrus CEO Brent Wouters, Diamond Aircraft Director of Fleet Sales David Moser, and Flight Standards Deputy Director John McGraw. Nearly thirty other prominent industry leaders will participate on panels ranging from doctrine, standards, and curricula reform, to safety challenges and growing general aviation, to aviation and flight educators.

The Pilot Training Reform Symposium will convene at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Atlanta, GA on May 4-5, 2011. Many of the industry's top aviation professionals have registered for the event and are expected to work collaboratively during the symposium and beyond to secure a healthy future for general aviation.

Following registration and an opening reception Tuesday, Wednesday's panel discussions include Safety, Growth through Pilot Training Reform, Flight Training Doctrine, modernizing standards, and a panel made up of Master Instructors and Flight Instructors of the Year.

On Thursday, the morning discussions include breakout sessions based on the themes presented Wednesday, with the afternoon devoted primarily to Industry Leadership.  FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt will present the keynote address at lunch on Thursday.
