New 1850 Powerplant Options Imminent
Bushliner, the Washington State-based backcountry aircraft concern renowned for its wizardry with Cessna’s 180 and 185 airframes, announced that it had signed an OEM distribution agreement with Lycoming Engines.
The partnership occasions the beginning of a new chapter in Bushliner’s history and heralds the introduction of new and compelling engine options for the company’s highly anticipated 1850 kit—buyers of which now have the option to power their aircraft with Lycoming’s IO-540 and IO-580 powerplants.
Bushliner founder Kyle Fosso stated: "We are delighted to partner with Lycoming Engines as we take the Bushliner 1850 kit to the next level. Lycoming's engines are synonymous with quality, and their inclusion in our kit allows us to provide our customers with top-of-the-line options that enhance the performance and capabilities of their aircraft."
Formerly known as the Cyclone 180, Bushliner’s 1850 is a highly-versatile and capable aircraft designed to excel in challenging operating conditions. By virtue of Bushliner’s partnership with Lycoming, customers may henceforth avail themselves of the enhanced power, efficiency, and reliability of the 8,874-cubic-centimeter (541.5-cubic-inch) IO-540 and 9,550-cubic-centimeter (583-cubic-inch) IO-580 engines.
Under the new partnership, Bushliner will offer its customers the option to have the Lycoming IO-540 and IO-580 engines delivered with their Bushliner 1850 kits—thereby ensuring seamless assembly. The streamlined approach simplifies the ordering and delivery processes and allows Bushliner customers to embark upon uninterrupted aircraft-building odysseys.
