Daher Delivers First Swiss TBM 960

Newest TBM Variant Finds Home with 930 Pilot

Daher today announced the first Swiss delivery of its newest aircraft, a "top-of-the-line", fully outfitted TBM 960.

The recipient was Swiss pilot Paolo Buzzi, an experienced pilot with plenty of time in his older TBM 930. The delivery brings the number of Daher TBMs in Switzerland to a dozen - sure, not too many for a whole country, but Daher notes that it's doing all right in a land with less than 9 million inhabitants. The TBM was dealt through SwissFly Aero, a Zurich-based Daher dealer.

Buzzi's position as founding partner of Swissquote has given him plenty of reason to explore the region in his TBM 930. Since acquiring it in 2018, Buzzi has logged 1,200 hours in his older TBM, venturing out on a world trip of almost 26,000 nautical miles in 108 hours.

Buzzi is a founding partner and board member of Swissquote, the leading online bank in Switzerland. He is a passionate and experienced pilot with 2,200 flight hours – including 1,200 hours logged in his TBM 930. During 2018, Buzzi was joined by his wife Anna on an around-the-world trip in the TBM 930, organized by Air Journey, covering 25,824 nautical miles in 108 hours. The trip helped the family refine their expectations in an aircraft, prompting them to move up to the latest and greatest in order to take advantage of the 960's safety enhancements. For a single-pilot turboprop flying outside its home region, an autoland capability provides great peace of mind for passengers - and the wife.

“We thank Paolo Buzzi for his loyalty to the TBM, and we wish him all the best for the long-duration trips that he is planning with his brand-new TBM 960,” commented Nicolas Chabbert, the Senior Vice President of Daher’s Aircraft Division. “His choice underscores how the TBM is perfectly tailored to the general aviation market in Switzerland, offering fast and direct transportation to most European capitals, and enabling operations from smaller airports.”
