First DA62 MPP Aircraft Welcomed Into Argentine Army

Incorporates Special Survey Equipment For National Geographic Institute

Diamond Aircraft announced that the Argentine Army Aviation took delivery of the first DA62  Multi-Purpose Platform (MPP) aircraft. It will be deployed by the country’s National Geographic Institute to conduct precise and efficient aerial surveys and collect geographic data.

The DA62 MPP is a very versatile aircraft that is fuel-efficient and has sophisticated avionics. The survey equipment includes high-resolution cameras and LiDAR sensors procured through Diamond’s partnerships with suppliers such as Vexcel, Riegl, and IGI.

The acquisition is a significant milestone for the Argentine Army Aviation and will enhance its capabilities in collecting geographic data and responding to disasters, as well as improve its environmental monitoring and infrastructure development.

The aircraft will also play an important role in supporting Argentine government initiatives in improving urban planning, agricultural management, and natural resource conservation.

Coronel Julio Orlando Morillas, Director of the Argentine Army Aviation, was enthusiastic about  the aircraft. He said, “The DA62 MPP aircraft is a game changer for our operations. Its advanced technology and versatility will greatly enhance our survey and reconnaissance capabilities, allowing us to better serve the needs of our nation. We are excited to see the positive impact this aircraft will have on our missions, which among other will be to provide service in collaborations with the National Geographic Institute.”

Jerome Berg, Sales Manager of Diamond Aircraft Special Mission Division, said: “The handover of this trailblazing DA62 MPP configuration to the Argentine Army Aviation is the culmination of much hard work and innovation by all involved, and a big moment for us. We look forward to seeing the edge this uniquely equipped aircraft gives to AvEj’s geodesy and aerial survey activities and thank them for placing their faith in Diamond Aircraft to deliver.”
